HOMO DIGITALIS D2 - Braunschweig
Educators Embark on a Journey to Transform Learning with Digital Innovation
DAY 2 - Braunschweig, 7 November 2024
A transformative moment unfolded at the Leibniz-Institute for Educational Media (GEI) as educators from across the West Balkans gathered for an inspiring two-day study visit under the Homo Digitalis project. With the goal of integrating digital innovation into humanities teaching, the event proved to be a masterclass in collaboration, creativity, and forward-thinking education.
Day one set the stage with hands-on training in digital tools and teaching materials. Educators explored how to elevate traditional subjects with multimedia resources, creating classrooms that captivate and inspire. From digital libraries to immersive multimedia content, participants learned how to make lessons come alive for students.
Day two took things a step further, focusing on user-centered design and participatory development. Through interactive workshops, attendees worked together to design prototypes for intuitive, user-friendly educational platforms. These sessions underscored the importance of involving real users—teachers and students—in shaping tools that truly meet their needs.
“This experience has been nothing short of transformative,” one attendee remarked. “We’ve learned not just to use digital tools but to create meaningful experiences that resonate with students and educators alike.”
As the first of many initiatives in the Homo Digitalis curriculum, this visit was more than a training—it was a glimpse into the future of education. By empowering educators to embrace digital methodologies, the project is paving the way for a new era of interactive, tech-supported learning in the West Balkans.
Stay tuned—the Homo Digitalis project is just getting started!
