Homo Digitalis - Braunschweig
Training Report: Teaching Material, Digital Tools and Usability Training
Braunschweig, November 6-7, 2024
The Leibniz Institute for Educational Media (GEI) became the epicenter of innovation as educators and digital humanities experts gathered for the inaugural study visit of the Homo Digitalis project. This two-day event, brimming with inspiration, collaboration, and cutting-edge ideas, marked a turning point in modernizing education in the West Balkans, seamlessly merging humanities with digital tools.
Day 1: Transforming Education Through Digital Integration
The first day set the foundation with dynamic workshops and interactive sessions focused on empowering educators to revolutionize their classrooms using digital tools. Participants explored the power of digital libraries, multimedia resources, and hands-on methodologies to create engaging, student-centered learning experiences.
“The energy in the room was palpable. We're leaving with more than tools; we're leaving with a shared vision for the future of education,” said one participant, capturing the spirit of the day.
Day 2: Usability and Participatory Design for Education
The second day brought a sharper focus on user-centered design and participatory development. Through collaborative workshops, attendees worked in teams to design prototypes of intuitive and impactful educational platforms tailored to real classroom needs. The emphasis was clear: tools created with and for educators and students are the key to lasting impact.
